My Team

This reflection is based on the collaborative group effort with the following team members:

The following are my contributions to our group's code of conduct and my personal commitment to this profession. This exercise is really fun and also very valuable to identify and define the main duties and principles which will guide me in my future as a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA).

Alignment with the Philosophy of Care

Our group’s Code of Conduct mainly discuss the person-centred philosophy of care and Self-Care. The philosophy of care is the dignity, independence, and uniqueness of an individual. In our discussion, we talk about really important topics such as Person-Centred Care, Effective Communication and Collaboration, Professional Responsibility and Accountability, Safety, Health, and Wellness, Respect for Diversity and Inclusion, Confidentiality and Privacy, Continuing Education and Professional Development, and Responsibility for Self-Care. In my future practice, I will apply all these topics by actively listening to client preferences, choices in their daily routine, and encouraging them to be active participants in their own daily care plans. My goal is to provide unbiased care.

Personal Strengths

I think that my personal strengths are Respect for Diversity and Inclusion and Effective Communication. I believe that every individual should be treated with dignity and respect, even if they belong to any region, religion or ethnic group. I always try to understand other's point of view with an open mind without pre myth or judgement. I always communicate clearly and with respect. I believe that communication is not just about sharing your thoughts also paying close attention to both verbal and non-verbal cues and signs. This helps me to better understand an individual's needs, even though they may not be able to express them verbally.

Ethical Dilemma and Resources

An ethical dilemma is when you have to choose the right decision from one of two options, and that decision is not considered right by the other party. In other words, it's a difference in moral principles where, when you choose one, it compromises the other.
For example, if a client offers anything to me. According to the CCA code of conduct, I can't take it. If I take it, that will be ethically wrong, but if I refuse, that could hurt their feelings. so, no matter what I choose, I will not be fully satisfied with the decision.
To protect myself, I would prefer to write an incident report to ensure my supervisor knows about it. I would also provide the company's code of conduct to my client so they would be satisfied with my decision.

Areas for Improvement and Self-Improvement Plan

Till Now, what I have learned, that the most important thing for me is "myself care" where I want to improve. Because CCA profession requires physical as well as emotional well-being. To protect this to burnout, I will work on self-care and for this I will set a SMART Goal

Specific

I will spare at least 30 minutes every day for a quiet walk or weekend tracking with my son. I will specifically do that 30-minute walk before going to my house. So that I will not stress my family with my work-life balance

Measurable

I will track my mood by using the Apple Watch mood tracker, I will do it at least 5 days a week.

Achievable

I think this is eaisly Achievable with my daily schedule.

Timely

I will try to implement this from now on, and I will check the stat at the end of the month and compare this to check is helping to manage my well-being and separating my work-life and personal life.

Realistic

This will help me to stay fit emotionally as well as physically, and also provide me strength to give quality care to my clients.
